Every Time You Eat or Drink You Are Either Feeding Disease or Fighting It

Every message you ever learned around food impacts the way you feed your body. I don’t know about you, but the above message was not one that I learned as a little girl. The ones I can think of off the top of my head sound more like, “all things in moderation”, “eat everything on your plate”, there are starving kids in Africa”. Can you agree these short messages had an impact on how you think about food?
The quote above is powerful and we have the chance to rewrite those messages. Allow food to be your medicine. Here are some of my fav tips:
1. Eat more fruits and vegetables

2. Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water daily

3. Look at your food and think before you eat

4. Listen to your body and notice when you are full

5. Your food isn’t going anywhere so eat slow and chew your food slowly – this will fill you allowing better digestion of food

6. Size and amount matters so have portion control of your food

7. Eat to live, not live to eat

8. Use nutritional supplements to fill in the gaps where you might be deficient. For example, people who suffer with IBS can benefit from the right amount or increase usage of Vitamin D.
